Update from your committee
Hello GIFAA Members
Vale Walter Lingwood
It is with sadness that I must inform you of the passing of long term GIFAA member Walter Lingwood on March 27th. Our deepest sympathy go to his wife Joy, their children Anthony, John, Yvonne, Kerrie-Anne and their familes. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday 11th April at Scotch College
Easter activities
Just a reminder that the Easter Bunny is on his way and we will be doing our best to welcome him to Garden Island.
Saturday April 8th we are planning a get together for some cheese and bickies and a little mingling. This will be held in the picnic area in Herring Bay from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Nibbles will be provided, please BYO drinks. This will be a great time to catch up with your fellow members and the committee for a relaxing chat.
We will be conducting our annual Kids Easter egg hunt on the Sunday 9th April. The egg hunt will commence at 9:00 am in the picnic area at Herring Bay and once all the hidden eggs are uncovered we will be following up with some fun activities for the kids including an Easter themed piñata, egg and spoon races etc. All members are welcomed to the picnic area for a sausage sizzle commencing at 12:00 pm. Theme for the BBQ is Easter Bonnet so please bring your best Easter themed hat for the day.
Facilities update.
As mentioned previously there is a fair amount of work being done with the facilities, particularly Herring bay at the moment. Everyone is working quite diligently to get the toilet block finished as quickly as possible. Most of the work has been completed but there is still al little way to go. We should have useable toilets for the Easter break, all going well, with only some landscaping and cosmetic work to finish.
Take care and be diver aware
